what do you see (when i feel what i feel)?
At once commenting and questioning - what do you see (when i feel what i feel)? comprises a series of videos, texts, performances, visuals and smells which are all manifestations of the forced hyper-awareness I have of my queer Black body, and the myriad ways it is read and received.
What do you see when I feel what I feel?
There is so much going on that it is impossible to observe passively. To be witness to the changing World without a serious reflection on the part we play. Through this collection of short videos and texts I return to my physicality, to my ancestry. To try and better understand who I am and what constitutes my being - while being acutely aware that to exist is to be observed.

Each weekend during the exhibition at HOME the installation was accompanied by a live performance: The first two durational of 4hrs each - the first of which polishing Dr Martens with boot polish and spit. The second moisturising myself with homemade coco & shea butter. The third was a 30 minute sound performance layering readings of A Short Account of the Destruction by the Spanish Dominican friar Bartolomé de las Casas (1542), sung excerpts of Nina Simone’s Sinnerman and live feedback and music.
